Born in Quito, Ecuador, Nina Vaca was exposed to entrepreneurship at a very young age. After she and her family moved to Los Angeles when she was growing up, her mother and father owned several businesses. Vaca was shown the importance of hard work from an early age. When her father died, her family moved to Texas.
Vaca attended Texas State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in speech and communications. While there, she also got a minor in business administration. Later she went on to complete multiple executive programs at Harvard, Northwestern, and Dartmouth. This helped her grow into an executive role, teaching her how to start and grow companies just like her father once did.
After graduating, Nina Vaca moved to New York, where she was employed at an IT firm. In 1996, Vaca returned to Dallas and launched her IT company called Pinnacle Group. This IT firm recruits people for numerous jobs. In fact, Vaca was so successful that the company now earns over $1 billion in gross revenue. It also earned the label of the fastest growing business owned by a woman in both 2015 and 2018.
In the end, it is safe to say that Vaca has lived out her father’s dream of becoming an entrepreneur.
