Explaining The Adoption Process

Neurocore

Neurocore is a brain-training company dedicated to helping individuals treat their psychological and neurological problems. A neuroscientist by the name of Kelly Lambert explains this phenomenon as changing the neurochemistry in the brain when engaging in these relaxing activities. Some examples of these activities include: Visit Patch.com to know more about Neurocore.

  • Woodworking
  • Painting or drawing
  • Making origami
  • Sewing
  • Cooking or baking food
  • Gardening
  • Knitting and crocheting

Companies like Neurocore have adopted this practice of treatment. The history behind this treatment dates back to the mid-twentieth century.

Electroencephalogram detects electrical activity in the brain using small metal-discs known as electrodes. These are placed on the scalp and pickups electric impulses of the brain. This method was used as a diagnostic test for epilepsy and now it’s modern use is for diagnosing and treating brain disorders. In 1929, Hans Berger recorded his first detail of a human EEG. Berger’s discoveries became phenomenal in the advancement of clinical neurology. Many even considered his discoveries to be the birth of clinical neurophysiology. Quantitative Electroencephalography, also known as brain mapping is a method of EEG using a computer instead. Compared to EEG, qEEG uses algorithms and statistics to compare these records with other records of age, and gender-controlled people and databases. This method allows doctors to create maps of the individual’s brain by combining measurements and quantitive comparisons. qEEG began in the 1970’s through works by Matousek and Peterson. The UCLA Brain Research Institute was the first user of such method and the first to put together a large collection of brain maps.

Neurotherapy uses electrical measurements to teach the brain to self-regulate. Frederick Lemere compared EEG’s of healthy people with diagnosed patients under psychiatric care. He discovered alpha waves are a neurophysical characteristic. These findings by Lemere and clinicians helped Neurocore offer a treatment program using neurofeedback. Since 2004, Neurocore has become a major figure in the application of neuroscience. They utilize qEEG, EEG, and neurofeedback to help patients suffering from depression or other neurological abnormalities to lead a healthy lifestyle in individuals.
