For many people suffering with sleep apnea and other sleep disorders, Dr. Avi Weisfogel has been a godsend. For over 20 years this dentist has been using dental devices and dental care to successfully treat sleep apnea and other breathing related sleep problems. He has also been recruiting dentists all over the world and teaching them how to use the skills and technology they use in their dental practice to help people suffering through the rages associate with sleep disorders. Dr. Weisfogel’s campaign has paid significant dividends for people with sleep problems.
Avi Weisfogel first heard that dentists could help people with sleep disorders during the 1990s. At that time he was a student at the college of dentistry in NYU working on his DDS. When he opened his dental practice, Old Bridge Dental Care, in 1999, he not only provided people with superior dental care, he also began working with patients with sleep apnea and other sleep problems. A very important step for Dr. Weisfogel was learning how to accurately identify and diagnose people with sleep issues. His second major step was developing effective treatment methods to help them and what Avi knows.
Once he could accurately diagnose and effectively treat patients with breathing related sleep issues consistently, Dr. Weisfogel began sharing what he learned with other dentists. Soon he was traveling all over the U.S. talking to groups of dentists about the breakthroughs he had using dental devices to help sleep patients and offering to train them. Gradually he formed a network of dentists throughout the United States with the training and understanding to use the skills they learned as dentists to provide treatment and relief for people with sleep problems.
These days Dr. Weisfogel regularly travels all over the world helping dentists expand their practices to include treatment of patients with sleep apnea and other breathing related sleep issues. His work has benefitted both the dentists and the untold number of people suffering because they cannot get a good night’s sleep. Dr. Weisfogel has transformed what began as a personal crusade to help patients with sleep issues into an international movement and more information click here.
